Eye-Friendly Sunscreen That Saved My Mountain Trek
Last spring, I planned a two-day trekking trip in the mountains with a group of friends around my age. I'd given up wearing sunscreen properly for years, just pulling my hat low and hoping for the best. My dermatologist had been on my case about UV damage — apparently years of squinting into mountain sun had already left their mark on my skin around the eyes and cheeks.
A friend in our hiking group, who's obsessed with K-beauty, handed me a small tube before we hit the first trail. CuraHeal Eye-Friendly Sunscreen, SPF50+ PA++++. She'd been raving about it for months. I was skeptical, honestly. "Eye-friendly" sounded like marketing language to me.
By hour two on the trail, I was sweating through my base layer. I reapplied at the rest stop — forehead, nose, cheeks, right up close to my eye area — and kept moving. Nothing. No burning, no stinging, no frantic blinking. I touched my eyes more than once to wipe sweat away, waiting for that familiar sting. It never came. Genuinely no eye stinging, which felt almost unbelievable after years of avoiding sunscreen entirely.
Over two days of real mountain conditions, the no eye stinging held up every single time I reapplied. The texture was light enough that it didn't feel heavy under my sunglasses, and the white cast was barely noticeable even on my slightly deeper skin tone. The brightening and anti-wrinkle benefits are a bonus I'm cautiously optimistic about.
This Korean sunscreen has genuinely changed how I prep for hikes. I'm not hiding from the sun anymore.
